The Pädagogische Hochschule Schwäbisch Gmünd is celebrating its 50th Anniversary as a University.
We would like to invite our partners to our International Partner Week from 12 - 15 June 2012*
We would very much like to welcome colleagues involved in any kind of education, teacher training and connected fields from all our partner instutions to attend our International Partner Week in June 2012.
The title of this special event is "International Perspectives on Education ", and professors and teachers areinvited to give lectures during the week.
Within the framework of LLP Staff Mobility (STA) we kindly ask our visitors to give presentations (if possible in English) on the following topics:
Professors, visiting lecturers and international coordinators will have the opportunity to meet with PHSG colleagues as well as with students, and they are also invited to present their home universtiy at an International Forum and to join our 50th anniversary ceremony on 14 June 2012.
Schwäbisch Gmünd is a cosy medieval town situated in Southern Germany with a magnificent green landscape and only 50 km away from the urban life of Stuttgart, the capital of South-Western Germany. At the University of Education Schwäbisch Gmünd about 2700 students are preparing their degrees as preschool, primary and lower secondary school teachers, for health promotion and for intercultural studies.
There will be different social and cultural activities throughout the week at PHSG and in the beatiful surroundings.

How to get to Schwäbisch Gmünd:
The nearest airport is Stuttgart. It takes about 1:30 h by local train to get to Schwäbisch Gmünd (via Stuttgart Main Station). You will receive an information package including more precise travel information after your registration.
Accommodation:
We recommend you to book directly at the Hotel Pelikan (http://www.hotel-pelikan.de) in the heart of the medieval centre. Please book your hotel before April 1st; the booking code is "International Week".
Please notice that we can not cover any travel expenses or accommodation and subsistence costs. Do not hesitate to contact us for a letter of invitation and the teaching assignment.
