The University of Education Schwäbisch Gmünd is an open-minded university with extensive international cooperation and exchange programs. In a pluralistic society, the ability to understand and appreciate different cultures plays a decisive role - especially in the university's profile areas education, interculturality and health. This is why the PH Schwäbisch Gmünd maintains relationships with over 60 partner universities worldwide, with whom it cooperates in study, research and teaching.

We actively support our students, teaching staff and members of the academic support staff in broadening their horizons. International students, teaching staff and researchers contribute to making the PH Schwäbisch Gmünd an international and cosmopolitan place.

At the first research lab of the Erasmus Mundus master’s program “Education, Migration, and Diversity” (EDU_MIG), held in late May at the University of Gävle in Sweden, scholars, professionals, and students in the master’s program discussed international differences in research approaches to education, migration, and diversity.

The program included keynote lectures, research presentations, and interactive workshops in which students were actively involved and discussed various academic perspectives. Contributors included, among others, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Gävle Anders Kottorp, migration researcher Nihad Bunar, senior lecturer Bengt Söderhäll, and teacher Emelie Aune. In addition, program coordinator Marijana Totić and Prof. Dr. Rosaria Pugliese, local project coordinator at the University of Calabria, contributed their expertise on the topics of multilingualism, migration, and education.

The master’s program consortium led by Prof. Daniel Rellstab and Prof. Miriam Stock used the week for working meetings and strategic exchanges within the international network.

The English-language Erasmus Mundus master’s program “Education, Migration, and Diversity,” coordinated by the University of Education Schwäbisch Gmünd, is funded by the European Union and implemented in cooperation with the University of Gävle (Sweden) and the University of Calabria (Italy). A total of four cohorts, comprising approximately 100 international students, are being trained to address key issues at the intersection of education, migration, and diversity.
