The doctoral study course 'Understanding and supporting education processes in early childhood' is a joint doctoral study course that is run by the university network 'Childhood education and upbringing in Baden-Württemberg' and largely financed by the Ministry for Science, Research and Arts (MWK) Baden-Württemberg. It offers structured support and assistance to qualified junior academics within a collaborative qualification network consisting of universities, universities of education and universities of applied sciences. In concentrating on the designated focus areas, the doctoral study course aims to encourage research work relating to optimum development support, assistance and promotion for children up to the age of six. The doctoral study course currently comprises four scholarships that are funded by the MWK.
