Boost for research:
Cooperative project 'Quality in Research' (QuiF) examines research conditions and expands available service

Research funding and quality assurance have become core issues for higher education institutions in recent years. From January 2014 until December 2016, the cooperative project 'Quality in Research' (known for short by the German abbreviation QuiF) has examined the context of the research conditions at the University of Education Schwäbisch Gmünd. This has led to several measures being devised and implemented. Quality in Research was a cooperative project run by the Universities of Education in Schwäbisch Gmünd, Karlsruhe and Ludwigsburg together with the associated project partners at the University of Design Schwäbisch Gmünd and the Graduate Academy of the Universities of Education in Baden-Württemberg.

The aim of the project

was to optimise processes within the organisation and to refine activities within the area of support and services. This was intended to include aspects such as the further expansion of consultation and service programmes available to academics as well as the development of criteria and tools for quality assurance and service standards. In a cooperative structure, the project partners created shared concepts that are tailored to the individual higher education institutions involved and are implemented accordingly. The main result of the cooperative project is the research compass for orientation and guidance in relation to research projects. At the end of the project, the additional results were also made available to other higher education institutions.
