Jochen Baier worked as a teacher of English and Geography at the bilingual branch of Landrat-Lucas grammar school in Leverkusen between 1998 and 2004. In 2004 he started teaching literature and didactics at the English department of the PH Schwäbisch Gmünd and he was appointed professor in 2005. Additionally he works as a coach and supervisor.
