We are looking forward to welcome you to the project’s first Summer School STEM in Motion. The Summer School will take place from September 28th to October 2nd 2026 on the campus of the University of Education Schwäbisch Gmünd.
Summer School STEM in Motion 2026
The Summer School focuses on two topics in STEM education:
Vignettes: We will explore the creation, analysis, and application of vignettes in STEM instruction.
Misconceptions: How can we identify and correct misconceptions?
Join us for these inspiring days of networking and international (knowledge) exchange. We look forward to getting to know you!

For students:
There is no registration or participation fee
The Summer School covers the costs of accommodation, breakfast, and most meals
Travel expenses and personal expenses must be covered by the students
There are a limited number of spots available

For teacher trainers:
There is no registration or participation fee
Participants are responsible for their own costs for lodging, travel, meals, and personal expenses. We recommend applying for “Erasmus+” funding at your home institution.

For students: A reservation has been made for shared rooms at the Hotel Fortuna. The hotel is located near the train station (about a two minute walk).
For teacher trainers: We recommend making a reservation at the Hotel Fortuna. It is located near the train station (about a two minute walk). If you mention that you are visiting the Schwäbisch Gmünd University of Education, you will usually receive a discounted rate.
Getting to the University: The nearest airports are in Stuttgart and Frankfurt. Please check the website of the ‚Deutsche Bahn’ for information on your further journey.
From Stuttgart Airport, the STB U6 and S2 lines depart regularly for Stuttgart Central Station.
From Stuttgart Central Station, you can reach the train station in Schwäbisch Gmünd via the RE1 and MEX13 lines. An IC train from Stuttgart to Nuremberg also passes through Schwäbisch Gmünd a few times a day.
From the bus station in Schwäbisch Gmünd (located right next to the Schwäbisch Gmünd train station), take bus line 1 to the Schwäbisch Gmünd University of Education. The “Oberbettringen PH/BSZ Oberbettringer Str., Schwäbisch Gmünd” stop is located right on campus. Alternatively, some buses stop at the “Oberbettringen PH/BSZ Heidenheimer Straße, Schwäbisch Gmünd” stop. From there, it’s about a 125 meter walk to the university.
